Gun attack: Three khasadars injured by militants

Unidentified militants opened fire at Khasadar official's vehicle in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency.

LANDIKOTAL: Three personnel of the khasadar force were injured on Monday when unidentified militants opened fire at their vehicle in Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency. Khasadar Swalzar Khan said a vehicle carrying several personnel was passing by Farooqia Masjid in Sheikhmal Khel when unidentified militants shot at it. Khan said three officials were injured as a result of the firing. He added the khasadar force informed Frontier Corp officials at a check post nearby and they jointly opened retaliatory fire in the general direction of the militants, forcing them to flee. The injured were taken to Agency Headquarters Hospital, Landikotal and a search operation was launched, said Khan. However, no arrests had been made till the filing of this report. On June 12, three officials were killed and two pedestrians were injured when unidentified militants attacked a check post on Ghundi-Shahkas Bypass Road. According to the political administration, four militants travelling on a motorbike approached the check post and opened fire.
