LAHORE:

A petition was filed on Monday in the Supreme Court (SC), seeking action against two former SC judges for allegedly securing lucrative posts for their sons in violation of rules.

Barrister Zafrullah Khan filed the petition, stating former SC chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry used his influence to get his son Arsalan Iftikhar appointed as the Balochistan Board of Investment vice chairman.

Khan claimed that Khalilur Rehman Ramday, another former SC judge, had got his son Mustafa Ramday appointed as acting Punjab advocate general.

The petitioner said that Mustafa did not fulfill the criteria for this constitutional post.

“Both judges have committed misconduct by trying to promote their sons,” the petitioner claimed.
