WFP assistance: Over three tonnes food distributed

The WFP has opened eight food distribution points.

ISLAMABAD: The World Food Programme has so far distributed 3,054 tonnes of food among the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency. The WFP has opened eight food distribution points, five in Bannu and one each in Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan and Tank, said an WFP statement. Meanwhile, the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization have delivered 100,000 doses of vaccine to the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Livestock Department. The vaccines are intended to help prevent the spread of an acute contagious small livestock disease in the IDPs camps and their hosting communities.
