QUETTA: Two students of Science College Quetta were critically injured on Thursday in an hour long gun battle over allotment of hostel rooms. “Members of the Pashtun Students Organisation (PSO) and Ahle Sunnat-Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) used firearms against each other on the issue of allotment of rooms in hostel,” an official of the college said requesting anonymity. The students were identified as Ameer Zaman and Qudratullah Juma Khan. They were being treated at Provincial Sandeman Hospital Quetta. Both the injured belong to PSO. Police later intervened and controlled the situation. “The law enforcing agencies reached the scene after an hour,” said Mohammed Sadiq, a student of the college. There were no immediate arrests. “There are couple of students’ organisations which usually fight to get more seats in the college and rooms in the hostel,” he added, and termed it a routine incident.
