LAHORE: Lahore High Court issued a notice to the federal government on Thursday on a petition questioning the expenditure on the Prime Minister’s (PM) House. Advocate Syed Feroze Shah Gillani had filed the petition questioning the acquisition of sniffer dogs and bullet proof cars for the PM House. The petitioner said that Rs120 million would be spent on the acquisition of bullet proof cars while the dogs would cost Rs2.4 million. Advocate Gillani said that a huge amount of money was being spent on the maintenance of the PM House. The advocate asked the court to set aside the purchase of bullet proof cars and sniffer dogs. Justice Khalid Mehmood Khan observed that budgetary allocations were made for these purposes. He said the court would decide the maintainability of the petition first. Justice Khan directed the government to submit its reply and adjourned the hearing till July 14.
