Terror threat: Police search two seminaries in Rahim Yar Khan

BAHAWALPUR:

Police on Wednesday searched two seminaries in Rahim Yar Khan and checked the identities of the students living in their hostels.

A Division and C Division police reached Jamia Islamia Badarul Aloom Hamaadia, located on Kacha Sadiqabad Road.

They searched the building and student hostels. Police also verified the details of students residing in their hostels. After the search operation, police ordered the administration to send back two students from Balochistan who were living in the hostel.

The police contingent then searched Jamia Abu Bakar Sadique, located in Habib Colony. The Rahim Yar Khan district administration is also gathering information about other seminaries located in the area, including details of students and administrative staff. Pakistan Ulema Council Rahim Yar Khan general secretary Mufti Muhammad Asad Yousaf condemned the search operation in madrassas.

“Police are using the Uch Sharif incident as an excuse to harass innocent people,” Yousaf said.

Most of the seminaries are owned by Mullahs who do not understand the Holy Book. It is bread earner for them. It is high time the Government takes notice
