Service delivery: PHC approves licensing regulations

LAHORE: A meeting of the Punjab Healthcare Commission board on Tuesday approved licensing regulations, complaint management regulations and the charters of rights for patients and healthcare establishments in a meeting. Recommendations of the technical advisory committee were also approved and minimum service delivery standards (MSDS) for category II healthcare establishments and homeopathic clinics finalised. The meeting decided the MSDS would be approved by the government and a notification in this regard issued by the Health Department.  The board also deliberated on various complaints of negligence and disposed of some cases. Separately, the Health Department on Tuesday converted 272 posts of medical officers to postgraduate trainee seats. A Health Department spokesperson said the trainees would be paid a stipend.
