KARACHI: The 12 fishermen who went missing after their boat overturned near Mubarak Village on Sunday could not be located till Monday evening. The overturned boat, meanwhile, has reached Paradise Point, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s rescue team told The Express Tribune. “The bodies could be stuck in the net inside the boat,” said rescue worker Azam Khan. He added that around six rescue workers and two local fishermen had visited the boat on Monday but were unable to find anyone near it. “It was a big boat and we couldn’t turn it the right way up,” he said. The rescue workers lamented that the government had not made any efforts to locate the missing fishermen. “No one cares. We tried to visit the boat but couldn’t do anything without equipment,” said one of the rescue workers. He added that some local fishermen had seen another boat near the first one. “That boat is also missing,” he said, adding that the fishermen may have been rescued by the second boat.
