Land disputes: Four men killed in separate incidents

HARIPUR: Four men, including three brothers, were shot dead in separate incidents, said police on Saturday. According to Havelian police, Iftikhar and Said Aksar were engaged in a dispute over the distribution of agricultural land with their first cousins. Both parties were also fighting a legal case in court. On Friday evening, when Said and his younger brothers Faizer and Fakhar were returning from the village mosque, they were allegedly attacked by their first cousin Iftikhar and his father Akbar Khan.  All three men died on the spot. The accused, meanwhile, managed to escape after the incident. Separately, Taimoor Khan, son of Iftikhar Khan, was shot dead allegedly by Basit, son of Ishfaq, in Salhad village. Both families had been quarreling over the ownership of a small piece of land.
