Armed conflict: Tehsildar dies in clash between Levies, robbers

Six suspects detained in connection with the incident.

QUETTA:

A senior administration official was killed in an exchange of fire with motorcycle snatchers on Saturday. Six suspects have been detained in connection with the incident.

Addressing a news conference at Levies Station Sibi, Deputy Commissioner Sibi Suhailur Rehman said that motorbike-snatching incidents were a routine matter in the ‘B’ area of Sibi.

“According to the information gathered by our team, the bikes were taken to Railo Mian of Lehri district which has become a safe haven for the robbers,” he added.

The deputy commissioner added that they received information that robbers were present in Lehri district where Levies conducted a raid.

Tehsildar Ghulam Qadir Rind was killed in the skirmish between the Levies and the robbers. The firefight continued for four hours after the incident.
