Bogus Books: Students warned of fake publisher

ISLAMABAD: Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has advised students not to accept books or pay any fee to postmen who deliver study guides from a fake publication house in Lahore. According to a press release, AIOU Director Admissions Syed Ziaul Hasnain Naqvi said Jadran Publications in Lahore has dispatched course books to AIOU students through Pakistan Post and is charging Rs1,100 each. “We wish to inform everyone that the said publication house is not authorised to do what it is doing,” he said. Naqvi said the university will be serving a legal notice to the publication house for the illegal act, adding students who had not received books from AIOU would get them within a week.
