SHANGLA:

A pickup plunged into a ditch on Friday evening, injuring four people on board.

An official of the  Torghar police station said the passenger van was en route to Jadba from Darband at the time of the accident.

The driver lost control of the van when it reached Khandar reportedly due to a technical fault and the vehicle subsequently swerved and plunged into a ditch along the road.

Police said four passengers identified as Fazal Sadiq, Islamullah, Babu and driver Nasrullah, were critically injured. They were rushed to Darband hospital from where they were shifted to Ayub Medical Complex due to the severe nature of their injuries.

Police registered an FIR of the incident and started investigation.

Road accidents are a common occurrence in the area because of the dilapidated roads which often make traversing them a dangerous endeavour.
