Boxer Amir Khan arrested in assaults probe
However, a spokesperson for the 27-year-old former WBA and IBF light welterweight champion said he expected the case would be dropped.
Greater Manchester Police said officers were called to a street in Khan's home town of Bolton in northwest England at about 1:30am local time on Friday.
Officers "discovered two 19-year-old men had been assaulted. Their injuries are not serious.
"A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of two... assaults." He was taken into custody for questioning.
A spokesperson for the Olympic silver medallist confirmed he had been quizzed by officers but added: "It was a minor incident and we're expecting the case to be dropped against Amir," the spokesperson said.
"We're expecting to formally hear that from police on Monday morning."

I live just down the road from him in Heaton, the guys he slapped probably deserved it. Khan definitely wouldn't go out of his way to cause trouble. You're going to condemn him not knowing the facts, yet Khan spends 700k+ of his own money to build a gym in Bolton.. Shameful that people are bringing up the fact that hes a pakistani because of this. Not a pakistani when he builds the 3/4 million pound gym? British then right?

Why are we jumping to conclusions without knowing all the facts. This is not the first time it has happened. A few years ago, a gang of 4 tried to mug him in Birmingham knowing fully well who he is. He thrashed them and himself called the police while they were splattered on the foot path. Then as well, he cooperated fully with the police.
