Monsoon month: Met office forecasts more rains

LAHORE:

The Met office on Thursday said strong monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea had reached northern areas of Pakistan on Wednesday-Thursday.  The Met office said moderate monsoon currents would cover central and upper regions of the country during the week.

“A seasonal low lies over Balochistan with its trough extending south-eastward,” the office said. The Met office predicted scattered showers-thunderstorms in scattered areas of Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on Friday. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere. The office predicted hot and humid weather to prevail in most parts of the country on Saturday.  However, there was a chance of rain in isolated areas of Islamabad, upper Punjab, upper KP and Kashmir, it said. On Sunday, hot and humid conditions are expected to prevail across Pakistan with the exception of thunderstorms in Kashmir, K-P and upper Punjab.
