MANSEHRA: Four districts of Hazara have been declared sensitive and military troops have been deployed at key points to avert militant attacks, said Hazara DIG Akhtar Hayat Gandapur.
Speaking to participants of a ceremony held to distribute the Shuhada package among heirs of a martyred policeman, Gandapur said on Wednesday that following military operation Zarb-e-Azb, Mansehra, Battagram, Torghar and Kohistan districts of Hazara have been declared sensitive. Troops have also been deployed at sensitive points of these districts and the military will assist the district administration during any emergency.
He said a search operation against militants and criminals was about to start in Torghar district. All five tribes in the area have assured of their support to the police and the military in this regard, he added.
To make the journey safe for tourists and those traveling towards Gilgit-Baltistan via Babusar Top Road, the DIG said the flow of traffic on Naran Lake, Jalkhad and Babusar Top roads will be suspended every day from 6pm to 6am. They will also not allow people to take tents with them.
Police check posts and patrolling have been increased while passenger vehicles are only allowed to cross sensitive points with convoys.
Gandapur added they will strictly monitor internally displaced persons (IDP) in Hazara division to prevent infiltration of terrorists posing as IDPs. He maintained security at all the entry and exit points of Hazara has been heightened for this purpose.
The DIG also lauded the sacrifices of police in the war against terror and distributed cash among the heirs of Constable Aurangzeb who was killed in Torghar two weeks back.
He ordered the induction of Aurangzeb’s son as a constable in the police force. Another of his sons is already serving in the force and has now been promoted to the post of ASI.
On Thursday, IGP Nasir Khan Durrani replaced Torghar DPO Iftikharuddin with Abdul Saboor over the former’s poor performance.

Yes Haripur, Abbottabad and Mansehra will become even more sensitive when it gets closer to August 14, so PMLN should deploy military in few weeks and then impose section 144 just before August 14.
Army deployment also needed in Abbottabad and haripur where at per estimate about 20,000 die hard supporter of taliban exit and can give host them for free...specially Abbotabad is very sensitive a grand search operation is required.
