ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia's envoy announced distributing 150 truckloads of flood aid before Eidul Azha.

A handout issued here on Friday said: “Pakistan is my second home and on behalf of the Saudi government I announce 150 trucks of relief goods for flood victims before Eidul Azha,” said Saudi Ambassador Abdul Aziz bin Ibrahim bin Salih al Ghadeer in a meeting with Chairman of the Senate’s standing committee on foreign affairs Salim Saifullah Khan.

Salim Saifullah Khan thanked the ambassador for his relentless efforts to visit flood-hit areas.

He said cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia was not limited to bilateral ties, but covered much broader ground.

He thanked the ambassador for his visits to almost all the flood-affected areas in the country and for personally delivering the relief goods to the flood victims and for supervising their distribution.

He said that $242 million is being utilised for establishing air bridges under which 30 planes and 1,000 trucks will be used to provide relief supplies.

The assistance is also being used for carrying out relief operations, providing medical care, food and shelter in the flood-hit areas.
