CDA dengue moot: Negligible dengue threat in city

Only three of the mosquitoes were found to be carrying the dengue virus.

A meeting to review progress in the ongoing Capital Development Authority campaign against the dengue virus was held on Tuesday. CDA Administration Member Amir Ali Ahmad chaired the meeting.


The meeting was informed that the CDA Health Services Directorate has collected 12,312 samples of mosquitoes. Only three of the mosquitoes were found to be carrying the dengue virus.

The participants were informed that fumigation and spray has been conducted at 428 houses, 28 mosques, 13 markets, 58 government institutions, 24 streams, weekly bazaars, eight schools, six parks,
six hospitals, 610 streets, 107 blocks, seven katchi abadis and on IJ Principal Road.

He was further informed that all formations of the authority are coordinating with each other during the ongoing anti-dengue virus campaign, which started in January, and are taking effective measures for the elimination of the virus during the current Monsoon season.

Ahmad directed all formations of the authority to take effective measures for elimination of the dengue virus.
