Back pay: Over 1,000 staffers issued paycheques
The amount had been withheld after the abolishment of evening shifts in these institutes.
ISLAMABAD:
The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) finally distributed cheques among 1,358 teachers of model colleges and federal government schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory area. A total of Rs4 million was given to the daily wagers. The amount had been withheld after the abolishment of evening shifts in these institutes. These employees would previously be paid from the college or student funds, but CADD abandoned such funds in November 2013. According to CADD spokesperson Rafique Tahir, the salaries of these employees had been pending for the last four months. He added that the amount was issued after clearance from the Accountant General of Pakistan Revenue on the last day of the financial year. The cheques were distributed in a ceremony at nine different schools and colleges.
