The establishment of a Saraiki Department at Gomal University DI Khan was approved during a meeting of the university’s Academic Council, chaired by Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Inayatullah. According to the university’s Publicity Officer Muhammad Fazalur Rehman, it was decided at the meeting to bring about changes in educational and research activities. Rehman added the academic council also approved the initiation of postgraduate classes in Saraiki and the directives have been issued to begin classes from September this year. During the meeting, tests conducted by the National Testing Service for admissions in MPhil and PhD classes were abolished. It was also decided that entry tests for the said classes would be conducted through an application form compiled by the university.
