ABBOTABAD:

Hundreds of Afghan nationals living in refugee camps in Hazara Division observed the first day of Ramazan on Sunday. Even though the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to follow the decision made by the central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the Afghan refugees who prefer to follow Mufti Populzai, the region’s influential cleric, offered tarveeh on Saturday night, marking the beginning of the month of fasting.

Taraveehs were offered in all mosques at Afghan refugee camps in Haripur and Mansehra districts on Saturday.

“It is true that nobody in our camp has evidence of sighting the moon but  we have to follow Saudi Arabia,” said Khalid, an Afghan refugee living in  Panian camp.
