Unearthing: Officials urge exploration of coal reserves

Abid Sher Ali emphasises the need to encourage the private sector and the government to establish coal power plants.

HYDERABAD: The delegation of the traders and industrialists led by Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) President Goharullah informed the State Minister for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali about the huge coal reserves in Hyderabad and other rural parts of Sindh. He emphasised the need to encourage the private sector and the government to establish coal power plants. The state minister informed the delegation that the prime minister has desired to personally meet the business community and address the issues of industrial and trade sectors on priority basis. He assured that HCCI will be given representation in the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) Board of Directors so that such representation could address the issues of the business community.
