Ensuring security: Contingency plan finalised for Ramazan

The bomb disposal squads have been directed to check the parking lots of markets.

KARACHI: A contingency plan for the city’s security during the month of Ramazan has been finalised by the Karachi police. According to the plan, 3,427 mosques, 257 imambargahs, 1,007 seminaries, 431 congregations of taraweeh prayers and 272 shopping centres of the city will be provided security by more than 400 police mobile vans and motorcycles. These mobile vans and motorcycles will also patrol the city, while 700 national guards will also be deployed. According to AIG Ghulam Qadir Thebo, the police are establishing pickets, watch towers and temporary control rooms in markets and other public places. The bomb disposal squads have been directed to check the parking lots of markets.
