"The case was registered here Wednesday evening and the investigation is going on. At the moment, we are not allowed to talk about the case as the investigation department is looking after it," the official told IANS.
The driver Rajendrakumar alias Pintu Mishra, 34, who is reportedly not SRK’s personal driver, called the 17-year-old at a hotel in Nallasopara here, on the pretext of offering her a job, where he raped her.
Although the girl is said to be a minor, the police are checking her date of birth to get the right age.
"We are also checking the victim's date of birth certificate to check if she is still a minor or not," another official from Bandra police station told IANS.
The girl, who came to the city from Latur in search of a job, got the opportunity to work at Sangeeta's house.

@1984 Its yet to be proven she's a minor. They are checking her records for her proper age. So we can't speculate. And if indeed she's a minor then sangeeta bijlaani should also be arrested for child labour hiring her, as child labour is banned in india.
@1984 I agree. Even with consent of girl if the girl is minor its statutory rape. But don't you think we have made laws so pro woman that there clear abuse of law? Example preity zinta case it happened in front of 200 people in camera recording ness hurled abuse at her status for making him the tycoon stand while she long forgotten actress sit comfortably with her friends. He pulled her hand and turned her then yelled insults at her. Her other complains stand that he humiliated her but how does one put sexual molestation section along with it? Then mumbai police was embarrassed at the absurdity of section and tweaked it to stalking, which was more absurd how was he stalking her?. Laws are for protection. The fear is under the garb of casting couch ( getting contact with srk for ticket to bollywood by driver, or any other revenge case like rhea pilau against paes). True cases were woman face actual problems people start suspecting because of such cases.
@Mega: FYI,the girl is 17 yrs old and according to law of India..Its statutory rape if you have sex with anyone lesser than 18 yrs old even if the lady gives consent too....

Clear case of using and dumping her. Then the girl lands police station. How many casting couch have we seen already from people ready to do anything to land a job or role in films or closing up to people who have contacts in Bollywood, and later on being conned land in police station with such charges? What job requires you to go in hotel room for interview that too by a driver?
