Woman seeks shelter from husband, relatives

SUKKUR: Sughra Jatoi of Shikarpur, who fled her house because her husband and his brothers wanted to kill her, has been given sanctuary at a shelter in Sukkur.

Sughra was produced in the court of first additional and sessions judge, Sukkur, Anand Ram on Thursday when she recorded her statement.

Sughra said that her husband, Nadir Jatoi, and his brothers declared her as kari and wanted to kill her. She ran away from the house to seek protection at the women police station.

Head constable women police station Abdul Majeed confirmed that Sughra, a resident of Piyaro Jatoi village in district Shikarpur, came to the police station when she left home.

Sughra feared that her mother was also supporting her husband so she chose not to go with her, said Abdul Majeed. Sughra requested that the court send her to a Darul Aman.
