BAHAWALPUR: Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan on Tuesday said that the government believed in trade instead of aid and Pakistan will soon be counted among top Asian countries because of its strong economy. He was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Bahawalpur Economic Development Forum (BEDF) being held under the auspices of the Bahawalpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI). He said that the agriculture sector of Pakistan was improving and issues such as load-shedding have lessened and corruption has been eradicated while democracy has been strengthened in the country. He said that BEDF is a good initiative and will prove fruitful in the development of the Bahawalpur region. Earlier, BCCI President Amir Yousuf Ali Khan in his address said that we have initiated the development of Bahawalpur by establishing BEDF. Minister of State for Interior and Education Engineer Balighur Rehman, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Wasim Akhtar among others were present at the occasion.
