Patwaris’ strike: DCs to issue domicile certificates

Patwaris have been protesting for over a week for a better service structure and more allowances.

June 20, 2014

In view of the ongoing province-wide strike by revenue officials (patwaris), the government has directed that deputy commissioners may issue domicile certificates to deserving candidates on production of a “Form B” issued by the National Database and Registration Authority for the time being. According to a notification issued by the Home and Tribal Affairs department, the decision shall be adhered to till further orders and be given wide publicity. It is worth mentioning here that in the wake of the ongoing strike by patwaris, candidates requiring domiciles, especially students, are facing hardships as the document is a prerequisite for admission in colleges. Patwaris have been protesting for over a week for a better service structure and more allowances.
