Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has asked for a report from DPO Layyah and ordered the police to take strict action against those responsible for this act.
The 20-year-old woman was kidnapped on June 19 and found murdered today. According to her post-mortem report, she was raped before she was strangled to death.
The father of the victim had informed the police that his daughter had been kidnapped but the police did not take any action to recover the abducted girl.
Residents of the area found the body of the victim hanging from a tree just a few yards away from a security check post and informed the police about it but despite receiving information about the incident, the police have not reached the site yet.
The victim's body is still hanging from the tree and has not been taken down.
The identity of the women was not known till the filing of this report.

How do they know she was raped if the body is still hanging? What if this was a suicide?
How was the post Mortem done if the body is still hanging? Why is the identity unknown if the father of the victim had complained to police?
there is no difference betweeen #india and #punjab.

Can't even imagine what suffering the poor girl went through and what her father is going through now. I hope the perpetrators are shot like rabid dogs.

What is wrong with people in Punjab? Religious extremism, violence against women, rape, sectarianism all almost mostly originate and happen in Punjab! (ET publish)
(Not to mention you have given us these rulers)
@indian: Even in poverty, no. of people living in slums, no. of toilets etc?
untill Nawaz sharif and Shabaz Sharif are in power police will not help the poor victims of this hideous crime, all these minister and the police are wolfs in sheeps clothing, they just try to show the public that they are concerned in realty they are not Pakistan Supreme court should give instant death penalty to those accused by compairing the DNA like all the rest of world do.
that's the difference between PTI KPK and Sharif Pubjab, there in KPK rape culprits were arrested within 24 hours, here in Punjab CM has to take notice for police to get active in dealing with the case.
@Hamza Baloch: Close your eyes, and it never happened.
I'm from Layyah. I'm in Layyah. Where did this incident happen? ET must specify the area.
Are we Pakistanis only capable of such terrible things?
@ hamza Baloch : You think someone needs to make up a story like this? Isnt it way too common in our Country? Unfortunatley one of the basic reasons why we are standing in such a disgusting position today is that we do not accept anything is wrong with us. This is high time we focus on improving ourselves rather than criticizing others
@Mega: very well said. Salams
This is REALLY DISGUSTING. This is high-time I turned vigilante. Salams
@Hamza Baloch: Wake up Kid! Pakistan is worse than India in every aspect.
@hamza Baloch grow up and open your eyes. Even we could have said same thing about our paper,we don't. Realisation is step towards acknowledging, finding solutions to eliminate the problem. Closing your eyes and calling others fake won't solve the problems in your country.
Grow up...
Another fake news.
When such incident happened in India, its duty of ET to paste such news in Pakistan.
The UNCHR should just go ahead and declare Women to be endangered species in South Asia region...
Good governance!
