The competition started on a district level on the directives of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) IGP Nasir Khan Durrani last month. After district competitions, each region brought out five of its best marksmen who went on to participate on the final day, with Bannu region’s marksman winning the best overall shooter position.
Durrani was the chief guest on the occasion while station commander Nowshera, additional IGP headquarters, additional IGP special branch and additional IGP elite were also present.
The aim of the competition was to promote healthy activities to develop both physical and mental fitness of the police force. During the event, participants competed in pistol fire, submachine gun fire and sniper fire.
Durrani later congratulated the organisers for arranging such activities and hoped the events will go a long way in the professional development of the force. He also praised the K-P police for their professionalism and operational excellence.
“K-P police is fully cognizant and prepared for the developing security situation of the country and will leave no stone unturned for the safety and security of citizens,” he added.
