LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday ordered police to arrest the killers of Farzana Iqbal, the 25-year-woman killed by her relatives near the LHC gate on May 27. Justice Kazim Raza Shami also ordered the police to complete investigation of the case. The judge issued the orders on a petition by Muhammad Iqbal, Farzana’s husband. Iqbal had sought quashment of an FIR registered against him. Advocate Mansoor Afridi, the counsel for Farzana’s father Muhammad Azeem, told the court that Iqbal had kidnapped Farzana and contracted forced marriage with her. He said Iqbal had committed contempt of court by concealing facts from the court. He urged the court to award “exemplary punishment” to Iqbal. The judge reserved the decision on the application until the summer vacations ended.
