Inflation: Index increases 0.03% during week

7 items registered a decrease, 22 items increased and the remaining 27 items remained unchanged.

ISLAMABAD: The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended June 12, 2014 has registered an increase of 0.53% over the previous week for the lowest income group. The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 202.88 points against 201.82 registered in the previous week, according to provisional figures from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. The SPI for the combined groups also increased by 0.55%; from 211.04 points in the previous week to 212.21 this week. As compared to the last week, the SPI for the income groups from Rs8001-12,000, Rs12,001-18,000, Rs18001-35,000 and above Rs35,000 increased by 0.50%, 0.52%, 0.55% and 0.59% respectively. During the week under review, average prices of indexed items changed as follows — 7 items registered a decrease, 22 items increased and the remaining 27 items remained unchanged.
