Writers and intellectuals from all over the world will converge on the federal capital to discuss the challenges to culture and peace, being posed by globalisation, said a press release.

Minister for Information, Pervaiz Rashid will inaugurate the three-day conference on “Designs of Global Cultural Hegemony and Writers Role in Defence of Heritage, Culture and Peace” being organised by the Afro-Asian Writers Association (AAWA) at the Best Western hotel on Sunday.

The AAWA was established in 1956 by progressive poets and writers including Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Nobel laureate Chilean writer Pablo Neruda and Mehmood Darvesh of Palestine.
