LAHORE:

Senior lawyer Hamid Khan and other bar representatives on Monday strongly condemned the postponement of the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) elections and raised serious concerns over the health and legal treatment of the PTI founder Imran Khan.

Speaking at a joint press conference held at the Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), PTI's Hamid Khan termed the issues raised as "extremely critical", alleging widespread violations of criminal law and constitutional safeguards.

He claimed that democratic norms and judicial independence in the country had been severely undermined, asserting that lawyers were now among the few voices able to speak freely.
