Sindh govt allocates Rs479.04m for judiciary, prosecution

Schemes include construction of courts and residential accommodation for the judges.

The judiciary and prosecution have been allocated a sum of Rs479.04 million by the provincial government in the annual budget for 2014-2015.


A break-up suggests that Rs 427.69 million had been earmarked for the judiciary while Rs51.35 million will go to the prosecution departments. The government has allocated Rs91.1 million for new schemes to construct courts and official buildings of the law department.
The new schemes include construction of courts and residential accommodation for the judges of the subordinate and superior judiciary. In Karachi, 16 new courts will be built at the Malir judicial complex. Other schemes include establishing identity and security sector and installing lifts at the City Courts. The government has allocated Rs0.1 million for the ongoing scheme to construct offices for the prosecutors in the province.
