ISLAMABAD: Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Thursday approved four additional judges of Sindh High Court (SHC).

The commission, however, dropped the name of two other additional SHC judges for confirmation, the sources told The Express Tribune.

A meeting of the commission under the chairmanship of Chief Justice of Pakistan Tassaduq Hussain Jillani was held on Thursday for the confirmation of six additional judges of SHC.

The sources told that the JCP has approved the names of Justice Syed Muhammad Farooq Shah, Justice Aziz-ur-Rehman, Justice Salahuddin Panhwar and Justice Aftab Ahmed Gorar for conformation while the names of Justice Farooq Ali Channa and Justice Riazat Ali Sahar have been dropped due to some reasons.

The JCP recommendations will be presented before the parliamentary committee for the appointment of judges.

Earlier, one of the JCP members had revealed that it will be the last meeting of CJP Jillani being a chairman of the JCP as the incumbent chief justice is retiring on July 5.
