Three years after moving to his childhood team Barcelona Football Club (FC), Cesc Fabregas has decided to move to the blue half of London, signing a five year deal at Chelsea Football club, an official statement read on the club's website.

The Spaniard confirmed the move on his twitter and Facebook accounts, stating that Chelsea matches his "footballing ambitions with their hunger and desire to win trophies..."

On Facebook, he addressed his fans where he said that he is "committed" to Chelsea. Fabregas pointed out that he has some "unfinished business  in the Premier League," having plied his trade at premier league rivals Arsenal for eight years. "And now is the right time for me to return."

The attacking midfielder also expressed gratitude to his former club, saying, "Firstly I would like to thank everyone at FC Barcelona where I enjoyed three wonderful years. It was my childhood club and I will always be proud and honoured that I had a chance to play for such a great team."

"Yes, everyone knows that Arsenal had the first option to sign me. They decided not to take this option and therefore it wasn't meant to be. I wish them well in the future," the footballer said about Arsenal FC, a club he had played at for seven years.
