RAWALPINDI: PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, senior leader Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad extended support on Thursday for Tahirul Qadri’s sit-in protest, Express News reported.

Referring to Tahir-ul-Qadri’s announcement of returning to the country on June 23, the leaders said they would support Qadri’s cause and plan on forming a grand alliance to overthrow the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) government.

Further, Chaudhry Shujaat said they would consider asking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to join their alliance.

During the conference, Rasheed stated that they will hold a historic long march on June 20 prior to Qadri’s arrival.

Rasheed had announced a ‘train march’ to protest against load-shedding, inflation and rising unemployment in the country, on May 11. Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi while talking to media stated that his party workers will participate in the train march.

However, on June 9, Pakistan Railways refused Rasheed’s request to reserve 200 seats on the special coach as political activity is not allowed on passenger trains.
