Cyber crime: FIA director asked to investigate alleged blasphemy

The judge directed the petitioner to approach the FIA director.

An additional district and sessions judge directed the FIA director to look into a petition seeking a case against All Pakistan Girls, a Facebook group, for allegedly sharing blasphemous material on the internet.

The judge directed the petitioner to approach the FIA director. The director was told to conduct an inquiry. Rana Imran said he and a friend Advocate Mudassir Chaudhary were using facebook and found blasphemous material, including derogatory language used against Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against those involved in spreading blasphemous material on Facebook.
