“We reserve the right to appeal the decision,” Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said. He added that despite being declared guilty, the action taken against the channel was not stern enough.
Along with the suspension, the media regulatory body also imposed a fine of Rs10 million on Friday, the same day the broadcaster filed a Rs50 billion defamation notice against the country’s top spy agency, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), the defence ministry and Pemra.
Asif further said that the ISI and the defence ministry were prepared to respond to Geo's notice and to defend themselves in court.

@Salman Ahmed: He is the follower of the Sharif brothers, aka Pakistani Charles Sobhraj, who have excelled this art of lies and deceit. Weren't they the ones who first didn't have an NRO-I with Musharraf, then admitted to a 5 year deal, which eventually turned out to be 10 year agreement.
Surprisingly he is talking some sense. GEO should be permanently banned and an example should be set for rest of the media who doesn't care about national interest. Media should be free but responsible.
Funny man
He says this with so much honesty that brings a tear to one's eye!!!
Khwaja Asif has had his wrist slapped hard by dragging out his speech of 8 years back and misrepresenting it as a current speech. Now he knows that he has to toe the line or else...
Unfortunate that even now the army has such control over the defense minister when it shokd be the other way around.
The nexus of corruption and treason (PML-N + Geo) is creating this drama. The government didn't want to take any action due to its association with Geo, and wanted to push the matter to the court.
Sir you will be invited for jeo news inauguration speech in 15 days with full cut shot.
They are playing good cop, bad cop. Trying to keep both sides happy without taking any steps to resolve this situation
look who is talking...
