FAISALABAD:

A widow and a child were raped in separate incidents in the district on Monday.

Samundri City police said a school teacher of a private school allegedly raped one of his students.

A 13 year-old girl, resident of Zamzam Colony, was raped by her teacher after the school ended on Monday.

The girl told police that the teacher called her to the classroom where he overpowered her and raped her. He threatened her with dire consequences if she told her parents.

However, when the girl returned home she was in a bad condition and her parents asked her what had happened. She told them.

The girl’s father said that when he and his wife went to complain about the teacher to the principal, he threatened and humiliated them and told them to leave the school premises. They then filed a complaint with the Samundri police.

The Samundri SHO said that they had registered an FIR against the teacher and the principal and were waiting for the medical examination report. He said they were looking for them.

Elsewhere, a young widowed woman was raped by four men in Pindi Sheikh Musa on Monday night, Bahlak police told media persons on Tuesday.

A relative of the woman said the woman had been home alone at the time. The men forced entry into the house, they appeared to be drunk. They overpowered the woman and raped her.

They also beat her up for resisting.

When she raised hue and cry, they fled the scene.

The relative said that she informed her neighbours who then took her to a local hospital. The doctors later told media persons that her condition was stable.

He said that they complained to the police but they had not arrested anyone and were pressuring them to withdraw the complaint.

The Bahlak station house officer said they had registered a case against the men and were waiting for the medical examination report.

“A police team has also been constituted to trace the accused...they will hopefully be arrested soon,” the station house officer said.
