Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman Imran Khan made disparaging remarks about Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s recent visit to India, saying he was dealt with ‘like a junior’ by his Indian counterpart, new prime minister Narendra Modi.
Speaking with the media outside Parliament House on Monday, the PTI chief said the PM failed to represent the country effectively and characterised the trip as “junior meets with a senior”.
The PTI leader also criticised the lack of discussion over the Kashmir issue. “This shows that the prime minister is not as concerned about the Kashmir issue and is more interested in business matters,” he said.

@Aik_Paki: Thanks for response. You may be very right. But I differ with the methodology adopted by IK. God gave him an opportunity to prove himself in one province and run the government in a manner to show case to Pakistan as to what he can do, given a chance. And then he should have gone for land slide victory. Instead he is wasting his time instead as some one said here "Imran is always busy in accusing, abusing and blaming others.Criticism is the easiest thing." See by such cheap comments he is loosing his imafe.
Just Assume that we participated the Marriage of our Enemy on his invitation to give him honor. At the day of Marriage groom and his family start abusing and accusing on stage; What Should we do:
1. Keep Quite 2. Also respond him and raise of list of his wrong doing 3. Left the party and return back to home.
Please answer keeping in view the grace of 18 Million People - Nation is in your hand and world watching you !
@VINOD: India got an independent election commission. There is no large scale election rigging in India the way it happened in Pakistani-Punjab in the last elections. Now the people who has rigged the elections are complaining about Imran. The matter is very simple and I wonder either these NS supporters are novoice or they are just pretending.
@ObserverUSA: Well said: Imran more eloquent than profound!!!
Imran Khan reminds me of Kejriwal. Lot of noise but no effect on ground. ONE is impressed if one hears IK for the first time. After hearing him a few times, it is clear this man has no vision. He has only some punch lines, a lot of accusations (mostly against US) and nothing in terms of what he intends to do in a given situation. He said in India once that US is the main problem and if they stop the drones and their involvement, everything will be O.K. That shows naievette on his part.
NS is the PM of Pakistan. As PM, he was received in India as any head of state would be received, with proper protocol. So, when IK says NS was treated "like a junior", it is not clear what he really means. In the past, Pakistan has tried to punch above its weight and hurt itself (much like kicking a brick wall). NS seems to have realized that normalizing with India is a first step to increasing trade and prosperity for Pakistan. He has seen times when his "rapprochement" with India was rewarded with a "Kargil" by the Army. Whether he will succeed this time depends on what role Army choses to play now. This is also a test case of who is in control in Pakistan.
@Aik_Paki Smriti Irani, lady and parsi, Despite of loosing election is made Cabinet minister of very important HR Department.
Imran Khan now a days a "Ploitical Unemployment person", he dont have any thing to do thats why he alwas say someting to get public attention.....
@ Saniya IK speaks with passion but he lacks a brain. I ask myself was this chap educated at Oxford. He speaks to the masses who are moved by emotional diatribes but who are too lazy to listen to rational argument. Are we stooping down to India. Everyday we are stooping down to the Haqqani network and TTP. If you are so concerned about "ghairat" just look at how we are viewed throughout the world
@Aik_Paki: If you google report on Sikhs, Parsi’s and Christians then you will find that their income is in same sequence as you mention. What about your income. Just check present budget.
PM Nawaj is the most appreciated visiting Pakistani leader by Indian media and people. He didn't talk or do any nonsense and remained focussed on his his agenda of peace and progress. First time Indians have started thinking differently and more positively about Pakistan.
100% correct Imran Khan. Unfortunately, many Pakistani leaders feel they need to surrender Pakistan's national interest for limited personal gain. Shame on these leaders. When will Pakistani leaders get some leaders with some principle to defend the rights of Muslims throughout the world, including Kashmir, India, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, etc.
@KH: You are right. It is so sad. Do people of Pakistan need enemies from out side. Look at Indian elections what all was flying from all parties, snide remarks, personal attacks and every one was so hostile. End of elections and see the way the entire country and leaders of every party gathered to celebrate the victory of the winners. It is not that opposition parties will be silent in the Parliament or out side but no one will be insulting the chair of PM the way an educated person like Mr Imran, who grew in the traditions of British Democratic system, is behaving and failing in sports man spirit by not accepting his defeat with grace. I respect him but a notch less today.
Imran is always busy in accusing, abusing and blaming others. Criticism is the easiest thing.
Look, who is saying this.
Statement of IK shows his mental level. He seems to be mental case.
I never take Imran serious. He always talks nonsense. He has never spoken truth.
Imran has forgotten national interest due to hunger of power. He does not what to speak, when to speak and how to speak. Shame for this Master of U Turns.
Dear Imran Saab, this is not India-Pakistan cricket match that you are asking your Nawaz to play as though one will win, other will lose. This is a sensitive issue and needs to be dealt with peace and not war. Nawaz is doing good job. So now pls stop telling Nawaz to go to war with India. You can continue your war with Afghanistan or Iran and destroy each other, and that's not a concern with us. But let us live in peace.
@sabi:
But he would not change his stand on any issue no matter which country he visits, unlike Nawaz Sharif
NS is a mystery. He is stooping to conquer or stooping to concur? Time shall make this clear. But IK should give the present set-up a chance to improve Pakistan but if results are not favorable for the country then Imran might be justified for doing his agitation politics. Meanwhile, he is better served by being patient and by not appearing power-hungry. It would appear that lately, IK has proved that he is more eloquent than profound. Whereas NS although not expressive seemingly is more thoughtful and possibly more mature. In the interest of Pakistan and the continuation of democracy, please let the Govt. run for a while and see if it performs.
IK sb. get over this "izzat baisti" mindset. Beggars can't be choosers. Only a fool would over estimate his size. Nawaz Sharif acted very maturely and conducted himself as a realist person.
@1984: Thank you for rebuking NS and not agreeing to merger. Must be a wise Banya.
ok my Indian friends. Don't take my earlier comments too seriously. The plight of muslims is the worst inside Pakistan. Gujarati muslims are much better off compared to Pakistani muslims. I was just joking. No offense..
The thing about his personality is that he speaks his heart and the truth. He is the only one in Pakistani government with no corrupt background. I am giving an example of our Prime Minister's visit to US. He did not have enough confident to speak in front of President Obama without reading off a paper. If you want to make a point, make it clear without reading from a paper. You should know what you have to say to the other person. Unlike Nawaz Sharif, Obama was speaking very confidently and did not have to read a speech out of a piece of paper. He did the same thing when he went to India and gave a speech there. He can't talk confidently and express himself without reading. That is not something a strong leader would do.
@Aik_Paki: He will merge Pakistan with India the way Bhutan was merged.
Wow,Bhutan got merged with India...What a good news...I didnt know this till now....Is it the 29th state or 30th state?? Did it happen before the formation of Telangana??? Ur madrassa must be a forefront in international news....
BTW,even if Pakistanis jointly beg also,India wont merge with them...
What will we get extra if we merge??? Oil?? Natural Gas?? Uranium???
Zilch, only 180 million more hungry mouth to feed and a safe route for all those militants who were bombing Peshawar,Karachi to repeat their acts in Mumbai and Chennai....discovering international militants in our background...losing rights to host international matches.....
Cant even imagine such a scenario
Modi Nawaz meeting was the first diplomatic chess board tactic initiated by Modi. Nawaz was defeated immensely as expected. Be honest Modi who rose to position of PM from a very humble background in a coutry of 1.2 billion population. That signifies the sort of political calibre, intelligence and potential this man posses. Becoming PM by superseding heavy weights like LK Advani is simply a political genius. On other hand Nawaz whose whole political career upto the position of PM orchestrated by establishment simply no match. In the end Modi won a losing battle and Nawaz lost a winning match.
Only a power hungry politician would say something so school boyish. After IK turned "pious", nothing good has come out of him. Maybe people don't remember that IK achieved his crowning glory in the social sphere by building his cancer hospital when he was not "pious". After becoming "pious", it's all been down hill for him as a human being.
@Aik_Paki - "You must have noticed the plight of Muslims in Gujrat. "
Please take them with you in Pakistan - the land of honey and milk...
@Aik_Paki It is surprising you make such comments. You don't read news papers? But you are at a news paper web site.
If you read Pakistani news papers, the plight of the muslims is the worst in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Gujarati Muslims are doing pretty well especially when compared to Pakistani Muslims!
@Singh: I feel sorry for the Indian minorities such as Sikhs, Parsi's and Christians. After the election of Modi, Indian minorities will be more in trouble. You must have noticed the plight of Muslims in Gujrat. I suggest you to take care of your own trouble rather than nosing into Pakistan's internal politics.
@chandran: Because NS don't have a brain to meet/negotiate at the international level. His brain only work to accumulate more wealth at the expense of Pakistani's misery. This year 60% people of Pakistani are below poverty line because all the wealth has gone to Sharif's. Zrdaris, Gillani's, Chaudharies, etc.
@O: Don't worry, if NS continues to be PM for 5-10 years by rigging elections in Pakistan. He will merge Pakistan with India the way Bhutan was merged.
@KH: Does our PM has any grace that is being disgraced? Our PM negotiated steel, cement and sugar deals for his family businesses with Indian industrialist during the visit. H also took his family members on a joy ride/flight to Delhi, met a number of Indian film actors of his time to sing songs.
When Imran Khan becomes PM of Pakistan, comes to India and acts bigger than his hosts, he can tell us on his return how he was treated. Meanwhile, Nawaz Sharif conducted himself with dignity, and was treated accordingly. Pakistan deserved Musharraf, in many ways. Maybe it deserves Imran Khan even more! They give many of us a lot of cheer! My view, as an "enemy"!
Such immature statement Mr. Khan. A person like you will never win becauee you are not a leader but a popular person. Leaders never speak nonsense.
IK has fork tongue. When he is in India he speak different than in Pakistan. Unstable mind. Can he go to other country & start shouting to demonstrate that he is big brother. He can check his ability to project himself as big brother he may try first in Bangladesh then see reaction of lost brother. International politics is easy said than done. I feel sorry for people who follow him. singh
IK please7 for God's Sake just SHUTUP.
If IK went, he'd have been treated as the fool that he is!
Nawaz Shariff Visit to India was like bull without a horn. He was very meek and submissive. He should have got his homework right. He and his party members are known to slap doctor's , opposition and sacking General's . He loves to be in Power to amass wealth and to destroy the country and its people. Pakistan needs a strong leader if it has to move ahead. IK is absolutely right and he is the man for the job.
Oh come on people, what happened to you all? We are a brave nation. We don't fear big armies. Buz-dil loogo! At least we have the courage to stand up against the oppressor! Long live Pakistan army, long live IMRAN KHAN, long live PAKISTAN. Pakistanio please be a Pakistani. Instead of being a ghaddar.
FGS Grow up children. Dont read too much too soon. Its just the first time . Give them both time I am sure good nice things are waiting for both sides of the subcontinent . Stop judging or criticising .
IK, grow grow In the hunger of power, you even forget national interest there is no more room for you in next election...
That's not important if he and his country was treated with condescending contempt, what's important is whether his businessman son got any success with his Indian counterparts or not for the interests of their fat family businesses.
@O: Wow....you have finally cracked the code of all our problems etc.....truly ingenious. If only, there were more people with your acumen, the world will be such a peaceful place!!
First beaten up poltician allies like mr tahir and now trying to say kashmir important than economy, mr khan, sorry to say but you are committing political suicide
All Pakistanis must read this and make up their own minds.
http://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/politics-and-nation/narendra-modi-signals-a-strategic-shift-in-approach-to-jk-pok-to-be-named-as-pojk/articleshow/35968503.cms
Such an immature statement from IK. Don't know whether to laugh at his faith in the Indian media's reporting of the meeting, or to laugh at the fact that he still doesn't understand how politics works.
How was he treated at Toronto airport the 'great' Khan.
i dont know why khan saab speaking like this?
@KH: FYI we are no longer under military rule. And this time round, there is a true opposition in the form of PTI. This is what a true opposition does. Get used to it.
Actually PM Nawaz Sharif was treated like an ordinary and economy class' man not only junior........
About time Mr. Khan wakes up and comes out of his La La Land. Today's reality is that India is a bigger and stronger country than Pakistan and should be treated as such if we are to progress.
@ KH ... Was he not treated like a Junior? or to boost our ego should we say "All is quiet on the western front" ?
What mental level?? He is absolutely right!
Pakistan must have been treated like a super power and not a small third world country dependent upon foreign handouts. We are greatest of them all.
