The Punjab Civil Secretariat Employees’ Association on Monday observed a two-hour pen down strike for acceptance of their demands.
PCSEA press secretary Karim Awan said all employees from BS 1 to 16 wore black arm bands and boycotted work between 10am and noon. He said the employees demanded that all ad-hoc relief allowances should be added to their basic pay scales and the scale should be revised.
Awan said the government should upgrade the clerical cadre in the same manner as the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had. He said government employees in the Punjab had not been given raises at par with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government employees and the situation should be remedied without delay.
He said employees of the Punjab government should be given utility allowances available to employees of other provincial governments. Awan said overtime allowance should also be revised.
