Rashid Qureshi terms UN's Bhutto report 'pack of lies'

ISLAMABAD: Former DG ISPR, spokesman former president Pervez Musharraf retired Maj. General Rashid Qureshi on Friday termed the investigation report of United Nation’s commission regarding assassination of Benazir Bhutto as pack of lies.

Spokesman of former president Pervez Musharraf, Rashid Qureshi pointed out that UN’s commission should held responsible the interim-government of that time not the presidency of Pervez Musharraf.

He also disclosed that according to investigation reports as compiled after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, there was no mark of hitting a bullet in her head and at the assassination place approximately 27 evidences were collected.

Former president’s spokesman further pointed out that according to investigation conducted by law enforcement agencies Baithullah Mehsud was reported to be accomplice in assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

Ayub murdered Fatima Jinnah,Zia killed Z A Bhutto and Musharaf killed Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti and Yahya killed Pakistan by going for military operation instead of political solution in 1971 tragedy.We have learnt no leassons from our past.Liaqut Ali khan was killed by hidden hands.Time has come to unmask these sacred cows who destroyed Pakistan and disgraced institutions for their personal autocratic and authoritarianism.No wonder they have small clusters of their cronies who continue praising these dictators.Mushraf should come and face the trial for assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

RAFIQ | 14 years ago | Reply Why everyone gona attack on Musharaf.Musharaf already informed to Bhutto that there are security issues and she was nt allowed to held a grand the gathering at Liaqat Bagh. why u guys dont think about the fake will that zardari get from somewhere or he did write this will by himself, secondly, why Rehman Mailk skiped away with Mr Awan in Blak Mercedes? Why Malik changed the route to go out? Why Mr Malik have changed statements on the incident day. Once, he said , just after the attack, i directly came out to see Bhutto and secondly he said i was 4 feet away and i escaped due the threat of the second blast and then he changed the statement and said , i went to Zardari house first and then went to Hospital ,, Look at these facts guys

Fakhar | 14 years ago | Reply Every body in Pakistan knows what shameless role Mr Qureshi had in a nine year long drama where Mush was Calligula and had many chamchas like Mr Qureshi. It is better he keeps his mouth shut

Tanzeel | 14 years ago | Reply If we go by PPP logic and held Musharraf responsible for Benazir's assassination just because he was the man in charge of Pakistan at that time then by the same logic Zardari should be held responsible for the recent wave of suicide attacks in Pakistan that claimed hundreds of innocent lives lately as well target killings. Likewise Benazir should be held responsible for Murtaza's murder since she was the PM of country. They have put the then officials names in ECL in the light of UN report but forgot to include Rehman Malik and Babar Awan's names who had escaped in back up car and let their BB "Shaheed". This is one of the best examples of hypocrisy by PPP, NRO sword is hanging on their necks. They have to find an undisputed escape goat anyway.

Hajra Sheikh | 14 years ago | Reply I agree with Mr Rashid Qureshi completely.Mr Musharraf cannot be held responsible because firstly he himself has been targetted many a times. Secondly he told Benazir Bhutto that the Liaquat Bagh area is surrounded by many buildings, hence security cannot be fool proof. Thirdly she was given a bullet proof vehicle to stay in...why then did she come out of the roof to wave to people??? There was surely someone sitting inside the vehicle who gave her the bright idea, someone who had been hired by Mr Zardari. The current government has been in power since the past 2 and a half years...why was the report delayed so much?? and Why did Zardari not allow a postmortem?? Ibe people of pakistan all know the answers to these questions. It's sad that there is no food, water, gas, electricity yet millions of dollars have been wasted on a ridiculous report, on a question that can be answered by the masses in Pakistan.

Rana Taimoor | 14 years ago | Reply Mr. Qureshi: who ordered the wash of crime scene minutes after the incident? thus not allowing investigators to collect evidence. Why the postmortem (if at all conducted) report was not made public? I am not a fan of BB or any of the leader (PML-N, PML-Q etc)since: 1stly they are not leaders by any strecth of imagination; 2ndly none of them in the past nor in present are sincere to the pakistani peolple and their record speaks for itself. But a crime is a crime and its finding should be made public in a fair and just manner.

Sheraz Javeed | 14 years ago | Reply In response to Mr.Qureshi's statement i would like to ask the only question that how interim govt is resoponsible for such kind of incident while Musharaf was a president with power of 17th ammendment and backed by Pak army. The fake statement by Mr. Qureshi can not also defend 18th october's incident took place in Karachi at the arival of Ms. Bhutto. History of Musharaf regim shows that he was the only one could take such kind of daring steps as he did in past like Lal Masjid, Wazirastan operation, Bugti's murder etc. So personally i make request to Mr.Qureshi to not step in the drowning boat. He is not only the responsible for Ms. Bhutto's assassination but also responible for the prevailing situation of Paksitan.
