Family blocks highway to protest murder

Several people from Kalhoro tribe block National Highway to protest attack on tribe members.

SUKKUR: Several people from the Kalhoro tribe blocked the National Highway near Bagh Channa, Ghotki district, on Tuesday to protest an attack on their members.

The protesters demanded the arrest of the suspects who killed one man and injured two others during a robbery in Achi Maseet village on Monday night.

A group of armed bandits barged into the house of Shahnawaz Kalhoro. By the time, the family woke up and found the bandits, they opened fire and killed Shahnawaz’s son, Wadan Kalhoro. Shahnawaz and his other son, Arib, were injured. The body and the injured were shifted to a hospital while the bandits managed to escape.

On Tuesday, several members of the tribe blocked the highway in protest.
