LAHORE: The annual degree show of the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD) at the Beaconhouse National University (BNU) opened to the public on Thursday at the BNU Tarogil Campus. The show featured the works of 53 young artists in five departments, including Textile Design, Visual Communication Design, Fashion Design and Jewelry and Accessory Design. “This is the moment when we step back and take a proud and yet critical look at the work of our graduating class,” said a statement by the university. This was the seventh batch of undergraduate students graduating from the SVAD. “The thesis exhibition is the proverbial grand finale in any art and design school,” SVAD Dean Salima Hashmi said. The exhibition was attended by students, their families and the general public. The show will continue until June 1.
