University polls: Teachers Front sweeps PU elections
PU teachers appreciated those who worked for the respect of teachers, employees and students.
LAHORE:
Punjab University Teachers Front (PUTF) swept the PU Syndicate elections on Thursday and won all four seats. According to the poll results, PUTF’s Amir Ejaz bagged 45 votes for the seat of professor, and his rival Dr Nasir Ahmed got 22 votes. For the seat of associate professor, PUTF’s Amir Rafiq got 28 votes and his opponent got 12 votes. For the seat of assistant professor, PUTF’s Javed Sami got 183 votes and his opponents Iftikhar Tarar and Bushra Rehman got 76 votes and 29 votes, respectively. For the seat of lecturer, PUTF’s Shumaila Gul got 142 votes and her opponent Abdul Majid Rana got 67 votes. Teachers Front leaders said university teachers rejected negative politics and others who were trying to defame the university. They said PU teachers appreciated those who worked for the respect of teachers, employees and students.
