Militant attack: Police constable killed in Bannu

The constable was left severely injured as the assailants managed to escape the scene.

BANNU: A police constable was gunned down by unidentified militants in Domail, Bannu, on Wednesday. DSP Sanaullah Khan Marwat from Bannu headquarters said Rahmanullah was deployed at Domail police station. He added that the incident occurred around 11am, when armed men travelling on a motorbike approached him near Waligai Abdi Khel and opened fire. The constable was left severely injured as the assailants managed to escape the scene. Residents took Rahmanullah to DHQ Hospital, Bannu. However, the constable died on his way to the hospital. A heavy contingent of police launched a search operation in the area and closed all main roads, the official said. According to the victim’s father, Ajmal Khan, his son had no known enemies.
