SWABI: A Pakistan Air Force (PAF) official was shot dead by unidentified attackers on Wednesday morning. An official of the Swabi police station, Muhammad Fayaz, said Munawar Shah, a resident of Dara Kala, was deployed at the PAF Risalpur Base. Shah was on his way to report for duty, when gunmen opened fire at him near Panj Peer Road. The police official said Shah’s body was shifted to DHQ Hospital, Swabi for an autopsy, adding that it was yet to be ascertained whether Shah was killed by militants or murdered over a personal dispute. The victim’s wife, Munawar, filed an FIR in the local police station and said their family had no known enemies. In December 2012, at least 18 people, including six security personnel, were injured when unidentified militants hurled a grenade at an entry gate of the same base.
