KARACHI:

Indo-Pak Chambers of Commerce President S M Muneer has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s participation in the oath taking ceremony of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a good omen for trade and commerce in South Asia.

“Nawaz Sharif’s visit to India should be a starting point towards economic cooperation among SAARC countries,” he said, adding that Pakistan and India could bring economic prosperity through improvement in trade in the South Asian region.

The importance of Pakistan in South Asia could not be ignored and Pakistan and India could jointly work to resolve the issues of poverty and unemployment in the region.

He said that the ‘region first’ philosophy of the prime minister and his visit to India is a strong message to the world that Pakistan wants to resolve all issues through dialogue.
