Shoot-out: Two dead in alleged police encounter

The bodies were sent to a hospital for identification, but the men could not be identified.

Two alleged attackers were killed in a police encounter in Shabqadar late Monday night after they allegedly shot at the police.


According to Khwajawas Kor police station official Murad Khan, around 11pm two motorcyclists opened fire at a police patrol team on Michni Road near Shabqadar Bazaar and
sped away.


The police team chased the motorcyclists, however, when they reached a checkpoint in Khwajawas, the attackers allegedly fired at the police team present there as well. In response, police opened fire and managed to shoot the two assailants dead.


Khan added two pistols and two grenades were recovered from the dead men, while their motorcycle was impounded.


The bodies were sent to a hospital for identification, but the men could not be identified.  Later, the municipal committee buried them, said Khan.
