KARACHI: A five-kilogramme bomb was defused by the bomb disposal squad (BDS) in Orangi Town on Sunday. The bomb was concealed in a block of cement and was planted near a tea shop. The area was cordoned off by law enforcers and nobody was allowed within a 300 metre distance. “Sparks flew from the explosive by the time we reached the site,” said a BDS personnel .He added that it took them nearly an hour to defuse the bomb which had a cell phone device attached to it. The police claim that militants from a banned outfit had planted the bomb and so far they have been unable to identify who was being targeted.
